Terravilla – Classified Report: Arrival in Terravilla
They were supposed to arrive with the utmost discretion, but instead crash-landed on the outskirts of the city at night like a pair of meteors. Even the grass around them never looked the same after the impact.
“Orion, you idiot! You were in front—why didn’t you warn me about the cliff between the mountains and Terravilla?” Aiden shouted furiously.
A few meters away, Orion was laughing uncontrollably as Aiden spat out grass.
“And miss that look on your face? Impossible.”
After checking their communicators and confirming they still had enough battery, they began their mission. Upon entering Terravilla under the cover of night, they noticed the peculiar appearance of its citizens, which actually made it easier to blend in with their cloaks and begin gathering intel.
The next morning, while waiting for the rest of the team, a commotion broke out among the civilians. To their surprise, the crowd welcomed them with open arms. Though their expressions were clearly surprised, the presence of a new species with a strange anatomy seemed to be met with acceptance.
“This is… unexpected,” murmured Aiden.
“They don’t see us as a threat,” whispered Orion.
After the initial impressions, the team resumed their investigation. Emmy insisted on resting first and invited them all to a speck she had just rented.
“Aiden, we spent part of the night building a shelter instead of investigating…” said Orion in disbelief.
“Just for Emmy to throw it away and rent a speck in 5 minutes. Unbelievable,” Aiden replied, looking at his brother while Emmy laughed at them.
Days passed, and despite their exhaustive efforts, they found no leads. Emmy and the others gathered information during the day, while Aiden and Orion used the night to investigate freely using their abilities.
After regrouping and realizing they hadn’t uncovered anything relevant, Aiden withdrew for a moment, reflecting on past conversations with his mentor:
“Aiden, on the surface, there’s a city where strange lifeforms exist—creatures the locals call pets. If you ever see them, I think you’ll like them.”
—Groos
Immediately remembering this, Aiden returned to the team and suggested they search areas where these creatures were found—known as The Carnival. It was a festive space full of attractions where citizens gathered, and also a favorite place for those furry, strange-shaped beings.
After a brief look around, Orion called everyone over—he had found a message carved into a bench:
“If you ever read this, know that they are very friendly. My favorite is the one with blue feathers. And please tell Orion: they are not food.”
—Groos
“What an idiot,” Emmy muttered, seeing Aiden and Orion shocked by the message.
Further exploration led them to discover one of the custom communicators Emmy had made for Groos, which also served as a tracker for locating power pixels. They immediately wondered what could’ve happened for the mentor of the best explorers to lose—or abandon—his device, something he would never do without a reason.
Guessing wouldn’t get them far, so Emmy—being one of the device’s creators—began working to restore it and recover any recordings it had stored.
Since they weren’t in the lab, Emmy estimated it would take several days. They requested permission from their superiors to treat this time as a short vacation, taking advantage of the warm welcome from the citizens, many of whom offered to show them around the city.
As days passed, Aiden and Orion feared the team was getting too comfortable with life in Terravilla… but before their concern grew any further—
“I GOT ITTTTTT!!!!!” shouted Emmy, calling everyone over, ecstatic with her own brilliance.
Aiden and Orion, already present, begged to see the hologram immediately, but Emmy made them wait for the rest of the team—much to their frustration—as they were finally about to discover what happened to their mentor.
